I saw the greatest entrepreneur on my way to class today. I was driving down Broad Street which is a nightmare of 3 lanes of traffic and horrible timed lights. In the “turn lane” (that yellow area in the middle of the street designated for turning) and man was walking with two objects in his hands. Upon closer inspection I noticed they were PIES! He was selling pies in the middle of N. Broad Street in 75 degree weather. He was accompanied by a blue cooler, which I can only assume had more of the pies he had in his hands. The only criticism I have for this man is he began his pie-selling endeavor a bit too early. The untimed lights of Broad Street had not generated enough traffic for people to be held up at his stop light, enabling them to purchase his (what I assume to be) tasty pies.
On a side note I got to class extraordinarily early and my professor presupposes that the pies he was selling were hot. Not hot, as in he had pre-heated them for us, hot as in he had stolen them from a nearby whole-seller.
Let’s hear it for entrepreneurship!

Old Friends
My friend Alex on why no man will ever marry me: " you're an ulcer and a nervous breakdown culminating in extreme electroshock and anti-depressant therapy just waiting to happen"
And he knew me before grad school stress.

Writer's Strike
The WGA strike has been over for well over a month at this point. However, it wasn't until now the little people (TV watchers) have felt the benefit of this resolution. That's right, the shows we know and love are back with all new episodes, the world can continue spinning as we know it.
Problem for the Students: those of us on semesters will be finishing and taking exams the end of the month. In turn this means that right now, the last few weeks of the semester is Project Mayhem (not in the Fight Club sense). I currently have: my Philadelphia Piece (8-10 pages), Research paper (for a yet to be determined topic) for Social/Emotional development (10-12 pages), a "Educational Therorist" paper (8-10 pages), a "Tool Paper" (6-8 pages). So in the next 3 weeks, assuming I hit all of the maximums for the papers, I have 38 pages to write.
So even though it is "season premiere week" take 2, I do not get to keep up with all of my favorite shows. Stupid Grad School. Thank goodness I have TiVo
